According to US media reports, recently, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam stated that the state will replace nearly 10,000 highway lights with LED lights, which use less energy and have higher visibility.
Northam announced on Wednesday a new contract with Trane to replace more than 9,600 lights on Virginia roads, rest areas and weighing stations. He said the upgrade would reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save the state $ 4.6 million by 2036.
The use of these new lamps is expected to reduce energy consumption by 50% and installation will begin in the spring of 2020. (From: LEDinside James)
